Barnstaple-based charity Families in Grief has received a £2,00 funding boost from the Churchill Foundation, the charitable arm of retirement living specialist Churchill Living.
The charity was put forward to receive the donation through the Churchill Foundation’s Small Grants programme. It was nominated by the team at Churchill’s new Barum Lodge development, which is located just a stone’s throw from the charity’s HQ on North Walk.
Families in Grief was created to support bereaved children, young people, and their families as they navigate their grief, offering a combination of one-to-one support, group activities, and family days. It provides people of all backgrounds with the help they need, when they need it, free of charge and tailored to meet their evolving needs.
On 23rd September Churchill Colleagues Jack Ireland and Nicky Cunliffe welcomed Families in Grief team members Chris Walker and Etelka Moon to Barum Lodge to present them with the £2,000 cheque and hear first-hand about the support they provide.
Chris Walker, CEO of Families in Grief, said: “We’re extremely grateful to the Barum Lodge team and the Churchill Foundation for this generous donation, which makes a big difference to a local charity of our size.”
Churchill Sales Executive Nicky Cunliffe added: “The Churchill Foundation was created to help us give something back to the communities where we live and work, and I feel very privileged to be able to do this for Families in Grief, a charity that makes a huge difference to so many people here in Barnstaple.”
