Pupils gain insight into construction during visit to Churchill Living development in Penketh

Pupils from Penketh South Primary School were given a behind-the-scenes look at life on a construction site during an educational visit to Hobsons Lodge, a new Churchill Living development, designed for the over 60s, currently under construction in Penketh.

Twelve members of the school council took part in the visit, where they met members of the Churchill Living site team and learned about the different roles involved in delivering a construction project, as well as the importance of health and safety on a live site.

David Meachem, Divisional Sales & Marketing Director for Churchill Living, said:
“We’re always keen to build strong links with the communities in which we work and welcoming the school council to Hobsons Lodge was a great opportunity to do just that. As a retirement developer, it’s important to us to help young people understand how our homes are built and the wide range of careers involved in creating high-quality places for people to live. The pupils were a credit to their school and a pleasure to host.”

Lorraine Browne, Deputy Headteacher at Penketh South Primary School, said:
“This visit gave our pupils a valuable opportunity to see learning brought to life. They really enjoyed finding out how a construction site operates and learning about the different jobs involved. Experiences like this help children better understand the world around them and how developments such as Hobsons Lodge fit into the local community.”

Hobsons Lodge is a Churchill Living development which, when constructed, will comprise of 56 one- and two-bedroom self-contained apartments designed specifically for the over 60s, alongside an exclusive Owners’ Lounge and landscaped gardens.

Churchill Living regularly works with schools and community groups to help raise awareness of the construction industry and to strengthen ties within local communities.
