Linden Lodge charity ‘Sports Day’ raises over £1,400 for Alzheimer’s UK!

Churchill Living apartment Residents raised £1,440 for Alzheimer’s UK with a special charity ‘Sports Day’ event at Linden Lodge in Bicester last Friday 26th June.

The event took place in the sunny Residents’ Lounge at the development on Linden Road, with 27 residents taking part throughout the day. Sporting challenges included the Egg and Spoon Race, Pass the Ball Down the Line, Hula Hoop Bean Bag Toss, Tin Can Alley and a Sports Day Quiz.

The activities were followed by an afternoon tea supplied by the Churchill Foundation, Churchill’s own charity, which also supported the day with match funding to double the £720 total raised by the Linden Lodge community.

Lodge Manager Carla Rogers said: “We had a wonderful time at our charity sports day, the teams put everything into it and a lot of fun was had by all. We selected Alzheimer’s UK as our chosen charity as it means a lot to our residents. Everyone gave extremely generously on the day and we are very grateful to the Churchill Foundation for supporting us and doubling the amount we can donate to such an excellent cause. It’s a great example of the community spirit on offer here at Linden Lodge, and I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who took part!”
