Lodge Manager Bill sings for 12 hours for local charities at Orchard Lodge

Owners, Colleagues and local residents came together at Orchard Lodge in Calne on Friday 29th August to cheer on Lodge Manager, Bill, as he embarked on an incredible 12-hour sing-a-thon to raise money for two causes close to his heart, a local women’s refuge, and Dorothy House Hospice Care.

From 9am until 9pm, Bill kept spirits high and voices lifted as he sang non-stop, performing everything from classic ballads to crowd-pleasing favourites. Owners and guests joined in throughout the day, creating a lively atmosphere filled with music, laughter and community spirit.

Thanks to the generosity of supporters, Bill’s efforts raised a fantastic total of £1077 for the two charities. His total will be topped up with an extra £1,000 of match funding from the Churchill Foundation, Churchill’s own charity.

Singing Lodge Manager Bill said: “It was a long but worthwhile day, with amazing support from my fellow Owners, family and Liz, my area manager. I sang for over twelve hours – over 300 songs! At first, I had no idea what to sing, so I just sang everything. I would do it again for those charities in a heartbeat. I’m very grateful to everyone who helped me reach my target.”

Jo Ridehalgh, Churchill Living’s South West Marketing Lead, said: "We’re so proud of Bill for taking on such an extraordinary challenge and for inspiring everyone at Orchard Lodge to get behind him. This event not only raised vital funds for two important local causes, but it also brought people together in a way that perfectly captures the warm and welcoming spirit of our Churchill Living communities."
