Owners and visitors at Riverain Lodge in Taunton enjoyed coffee, cake and conversation while raising nearly £300 for the Alzheimer’s Society at a recent fundraising morning and raffle. Thanks to match funding from the Churchill Foundation, the total will be doubled, giving a welcome boost to a cause close to the hearts of many in the community.
The event was organised as part of a series of fundraising activities led by Sales Executive Aimee Clist, who will also be taking on the Cardiff Half Marathon in October in memory of her dad. All proceeds will go towards the Alzheimer’s Society, a charity that provides vital support, information and research for those affected by dementia.
Jo Ridehalgh, Marketing Lead for Churchill Living South West, said: “It was wonderful to see so many people come together to raise money for such an important cause and start conversations around Alzheimer’s. We’re proud of our Owners and team for their generosity and community spirit and we’re delighted that the Churchill Foundation match funding will double the total raised. With Aimee’s half marathon challenge still to come, we'll be cheering her on every step of the way”.
Riverain Lodge offers independent, low-maintenance living for the over 60s in the heart of Taunton. Located on Tangier Way in a beautiful riverside setting, the development is just a short walk from the town’s shops, cafes and amenities, with the Quantock and Blackdown Hills close by.
