At Churchill Living, we believe in celebrating the everyday heroes whose kindness, compassion and dedication bring communities together. That’s why we’re proud to launch our inaugural Local Hero Awards, recognising the extraordinary contributions of people aged over 60 who are making a real impact where they live.
Whether they’re volunteering, mentoring, fundraising or simply being a reliable and caring neighbour, these individuals show that age is no barrier to making a difference. If you know someone who goes above and beyond to help others, or if that person is you, we’d love to hear your story.
Who can be nominated?
Nominees must:
- Be aged 60 or over
- Live in England or Wales
- Have made a positive impact in their local community, big or small
You can nominate someone you admire or submit a self-nomination if you’ve been active in your community and want to share your story.
What happens next?
- A shortlist of finalists will be created covering up to ten different areas across England and Wales
- Finalists will be invited to a special awards event at a Churchill Living Lodge near to them later this summer
- The winner will receive a Local Hero Award trophy and a charity donation made in their name to a cause of their choice
A panel of local stakeholders and Churchill Living representatives will carefully review each nomination and select the winners.
