The Churchill Foundation has celebrated its first full year of working in partnership with Hourglass (Safer Ageing), the only UK-wide charity dedicated to calling time on the harm, abuse and exploitation of older people.
During that time the £400,000 partnership, which will run for at least another two years, has provided critical stability for Hourglass and enabled the charity to strengthen delivery across the UK. As a result, Hourglass has been able to scale its frontline services and build deeper regional capacity, increasing complex case work by 25% and ultimately reaching thousands more older people affected by abuse.
As demand for its services continues to rise and the funding environment becomes more competitive, Churchill’s support has helped Hourglass to remain resilient and future-focused. This includes expanding its team of specialist caseworkers, enabling staff to meet new national training standards, and exploring innovative ways to improve data, insight and service delivery. It has also helped to create new specialist capacity that did not previously exist, all of which has improved frontline support and continues to ensure it is there for those who need it most.
