We've marked an exciting milestone in the construction of our new over 60s development, Adam Lock Lodge in Wells, with the unveiling of its official date brick.
The brick was revealed by the Deputy Mayor of Wells, Cllr Denise Denis, alongside Cllr Deborah Orrett, who were welcomed to the development currently taking shape on Glastonbury Road. Following the ceremony, the councillors visited Churchill Living’s nearby St Athelm Lodge, where they enjoyed meeting a group of Owners and sharing a warm and lively conversation.
Adam Lock Lodge will comprise 47 one- and two-bedroom apartments, thoughtfully designed for the over 60s. The Lodge is centrally located in the historic city of Wells, placing future Owners just moments from its charming high street, twice-weekly outdoor market, independent shops and cafés.
Jo Ridehalgh, Marketing Lead for Churchill Living South West, said: "We were delighted to welcome Deputy Mayor Cllr Denise Denis and Cllr Deborah Orrett to Adam Lock Lodge for the unveiling of our date brick. It was wonderful to show them the development and then visit our Owners at St Athelm Lodge, sharing a lovely chat and hearing about their experiences. Moments like these really highlight the sense of community we aim to foster at all our developments."
Every apartment at Adam Lock Lodge is completely self-contained with its own front door, offering privacy and comfort. A choice of layouts is available, all featuring well-planned kitchens with colour-coordinated worktops, tiling and integrated appliances. Owners will also enjoy the beautifully furnished Owners’ Lounge, complete with a coffee bar and views over landscaped gardens, as well as a Guest Suite for visiting friends and family.
Wells, England’s smallest city, boasts a rich history and vibrant culture. From the medieval lanes and Bishop’s Palace to the iconic Wells Cathedral and bustling markets held for nearly 900 years, the city offers an exceptional backdrop for a lively retirement. A range of attractions including Wookey Hole, Cheddar Gorge, Glastonbury Abbey and the Fleet Air Arm Museum lie within easy reach, while excellent local transport links make exploring the wider area simple.
Adam Lock Lodge is due to welcome its first Owners in June 2026 and has already attracted strong interest from locals looking for a low-maintenance home in a beautifully connected location.
