“EXPRESSIONS OF CREATIVITY” an exhibition of art work by talented owner residents of Betjeman Lodge, Ludlow

On Thursday 15th May, a group of ten resident artists at Betjeman Lodge warmly welcomed family, friends and members of the local community to a three-day exhibition of their impressive work.

The spacious Owner’s Lounge decorated with colourful fresh flowers displayed twenty five outstanding works of art.  These included oil paintings, water colours, sketches, collage, felt making and embroidery.

“We are very lucky to have so many talented Owners taking part in this amazing exhibition,” said Lodge Manager Gill Eades. “It was great to welcome so many visitors;  it brought the Owners Lounge to life and was wonderful to experience the delight and interaction of both visitors and residents!  We had no idea just how much talent resided in the Lodge.”

The exhibition was co-ordinated by resident Carol Outram whose background as a textile artist and designer means she is well connected with the arts and Ludlow’s artistic community.  She actively supports and heartily recommends the concept that active participation in the arts is one of the most important contributors to wellbeing – physical, mental, emotional and social - in older adults.

Betjeman Lodge is a delightful complex of over 40 privately owned apartments for the over 60’s, ideal for those who want to enjoy their independence with security and friendship in the ancient and cultural heart of Ludlow.
