Churchill Living has given a warm welcome to its first new Residents at Marlborough Lodge in Kidlington, where a thriving community is starting to take shape. The first new Residents are enjoying an independent lifestyle since moving into the collection of retirement apartments, which are located within walking distance of the village’s busy high street.
Among the first people to move in is local retiree Fay Lambert, who says: “It feels like home already! I wanted to stay in Kidlington, so I love the location, and I love the ambience of the place with our friendly Lodge Manager Yvette who looks after everything for us. It fits all my requirements, everyone is very amiable, and as more Residents move in it will feel even more like a community.”
Another of the first people to move into the Lodge is Jean McCluskey, who says: “The thing I like best about living here is the friendliness, being part of a new community and not being cut off from others by living alone in my old house. I wanted to live in Kidlington and Marlborough Lodge fits the bill perfectly, I would recommend it to anyone else who is considering a move. Come along and see for yourself!”
Lodge Manager Yvette Fox is delighted to be helping her new Residents to settle in. “Being able to assist the Residents and their families is very rewarding,” she says. “Knowing you are making a difference to people’s lives. My Residents enjoy the Puzzler’s Club which is an initiative that I set up, and they also enjoy their Fish & Chip Friday once a month and the regular Afternoon Tea and Coffee Mornings which I help organise every week.”
Yvette adds: “It’s lovely to see how close the Residents become once they’re settled in and how quickly they feel at home here. We like our apartments to provide a space for Residents to enjoy an independent retirement whilst also becoming a part of the Churchill community. I’m really enjoying my new role as Lodge Manager here, no two days are the same and there’s always something to do!”
Marlborough Lodge is a collection of one and two bedroom apartments with fully integrated kitchens, free parking, a Lodge Manager and landscaped gardens with patio and seating areas. Residents also benefit from a 24-hour call centre support system, a Guest Suite for family and friends to visit, and an Residents’ Lounge with a coffee bar – with selected apartments boasting balconies, ensuite bathrooms and cloakrooms.
